Web Books

Webmaster Answers! Webmaster Answers! : Certified Tech Support - Christopher Ditto

Although I rarely buy html books any more this one passed my test. After flipping through it for just a few minutes I learned something I'd never known before. That may sound a little arrogant, but to tell you the truth, most of the html books out there don't cover alot of the techniques professional web designers use every day, and are therefore a waste of time. But not this one. Think you know all there is to know about html? Pick up this book and find out.

Creative HTML Design - Lynda Weinman

A very comprehenshive guide for the beginning web designer. Covers the major topics very well. Great first book if you're looking to start hand-coding pages.

HTML: the Definitive Guide - (Nutshell Handbook)

An excellent desk reference. If you have a specific problem and don't want to wade through a 'how-to' book, pick this one up. Very handy when you're up against a seemingly impossible problem.

Fireworks: For Windows and Macintosh - Visual Quickstart Guide

Fireworks is the first new production tool developed from the ground up to serve the needs of Web designers. I use it every day. It has replace several programs on my hard drive including GifBuilder, Mapper, and DeBabelizer and has streamlined my web design process saving me several hours per week. It does have a bit of a learning curve if you want to use it's more advanced features, but many of the best features are easy to use. This is the first book I know of to come out on Fireworks.
